Stefanos Tsitsipas' rivalry with Daniil Medvedev will add another chapter after the Greek player beat Alexandre Muller 6-3, 7-5 at the Shanghai Masters.

Tsitsipas and Medvedev famously started their rivalry with a spiky encounter at the Miami Open more than six years ago. It ended with Medvedev claiming his opponent calling him a “bulls*** Russian” as he told the world No. 12 to “shut your f*** up”.

In a match slated for Tuesday, Daniil Medvedev (No. 5 in rankings) will meet Stefanos Tsitsipas (No. 12) in the Round of 16 at the Rolex Shanghai Masters. Over his last 10 tournaments, Tsitsipas has won 23.2% of his return games and 83.6% of his service games.

Stefanos faced Carlitos at the French Open for the second year in a row and failed to win a single set, giving the feeling of being at the mercy of his opponent. Tsitsipas' season cannot be considered fully satisfactory ( despite his triumph in Monte Carlo ), nor can Medvedev's, who has yet to win a title this year.
