Tata Consultancy Services , India's top IT services company, reported a bigger-than-expected second-quarter revenue on Thursday on realisations from large deals bagged in the previous quarters.

The IT major reported a 5% rise in net profit to Rs 11,955 crore for the September 2024 quarter compared with Rs 11,380 crore in the same quarter last year.

The profit was lower than the Street's estimate of Rs 12,450 crore. Revenue from operations, meanwhile, increased 8% year-on-year (YoY) to Rs 64,259 crore.

TCS reported revenue in rupee terms that was in-line with expectations, while most other parameters were a miss.

The boards of TCS and Tata Elxsi are slated to meet today to approve second quarter results for the current fiscal.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country's largest IT firm, is likely to register a 2.1 per cent sequential increase in its consolidated revenue for the September quarter, according to Zee Business research.

TCS Q2 revenue is expected to grow 2.2% to ₹64,011 crore from ₹62,613 crore, QoQ, led by deal scale-up, including the BSNL deal and incremental pick-up in North America BFSI.
