The Texas State Capitol was cleared of visitors Tuesday evening and closed to the public after a social media threat, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a statement.

Some Texas state House Democrats are refusing to leave the chamber, after Republicans required them to sign a form allowing Department of Public Safety troopers to follow them.

Some protesters moved outside the Capitol grounds after DPS shut down the building.

Just as airlines are now requiring REAL IDs to hop on a flight, the Texas Department of Public Safety announced it’s rolling out a brand-new driver’s license and ID design. But there’s no need to fret, all unexpired identification cards will remain valid until their expiration date.

The new cards include upgraded security features to try and eliminate stolen identities.
