Sep 4, 2005 · In March 1966, Triumph won the prestigious Daytona 200 race (and again in 1967) using T100-based racers and, to capitalise, from the '67 season, a twin-carb. version of the 500 was offered in all markets. At the same time, Triumph stopped using the 5TA model code, replacing it with T100S, the 'S' standing for 'Single carb.' with the new twin-carb.
