My job is to tweak the heads a little to suit an unrestricted 6L engine. What are your overall impressions of what you see? Jan 4, 2018 · What we've done in the past, is design the engine to make as much power as possible, and then knock the peak HP back down to the required limit. This has been done done legally, and illegally in the past. One team, that will remain nameless, had 2 different maps.

Jan 3, 2018 · ECR was building the LS engines for the Daytona Prototypes. It's a really good article. They typically ran them to 7500rpm, 332ci. Made a fat 600bhp with a 2 x 35mm-ish restrictors. Intake is a cast Kinsler magnesium piece, and rockers are from T&D.

Jan 10, 2018 · Back when I was involved, it was constant testing, track rental, engine dyno, chassis dyno. A lot wasn't even engine. It made the vehicle cost much more, I remember we tried Krytox for wheel bearings, Stuff was like $2000 for a 1lb. Slowing people down just makes them try harder to go fast again.

These runners are based on Daytona Prototype units and have been optimized for high RPM engines with high head flow. Our test resulted in 451.6 horsepower and 377.7 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 12.2 horsepower over the standard runners but a decrease of 14.8 lb-ft of torque.

Jun 17, 2019 · Update on the daytona prototype heads for anyone that cares. The factory ls7 intake works. The intake bolts line up and the angle looks good. I didn't sit head gaskets on there but the angle looks close enough for no gaskets.

Custom modified Edelbrock Performer RPM LS1. This intake has been welded and reshaped to allow for spreadbore carburetors. I purchased brand new ARP stainless bolts and Felpro paper cathedral gaskets for it (better than new)

Feb 6, 2005 · - A Pontiac engined prototype just won at Daytona. When they had the engine cover off, it looked to me to a “LS” based engine. Anyone know just what “Pontiac” engines they are using in these prototypes?

Aug 26, 2017 · I'm trying to build a cheap town 370 ls and I'm wondering if these heads would work for a cheap set of heads for a turbo motor. I would like a to be around 1200rwhp with a twin BW 366 sxe turbos. Would these be worth buying?

Jan 29, 2006 · Does anyone have pictures of the Spirit of Daytona cars on the track? I've seen plenty of the GTO.Rs, but I would like to see theirs as well. Also, I thought that Doug Goad (driver for the SOD cars) was one of the owners of Wheel2Wheel in Michigan, I wonder why they chose not to run the W2W flares.
