🏒On May 25, 1989 in the Stanley Cup Finals at the Montreal Forum, the Calgary Flames beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-2 to win series 4 games to 2. The win marked the Flames' first and only Stanley Cup title. This was the Canadiens' first defeat in a Cup Finals since 1967. Calgary’s Al MacInnis won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP, and at 31 points, became the first defenceman to lead the NHL in post-season scoring.
