Understanding Quaker Phrases and Their Importance in Community Life

Fun fact! Quakers historically refused to use the pronoun “you”, and instead referred to everyone as “thee” and “thou” roughly until the 20th century. This was due to “you” being seen as a pronoun that was reserved for a higher rank of people (similar to the royal “we”), which the staunchly egalitarian Quakers disapproved of.
