Today, we honor the 13 U.S. service members who lost their lives in the Kabul airport attack on August 26, 2021. They were stationed at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, during the final days of the U.S. military withdrawal. As they worked to evacuate civilians in a tense and dangerous environment, a suicide bombing took their lives.
