Buddy Rich plays a great drum solo upside down on the “I’ve Got a Secret” TV pilot from 1975. This is an early (and probably dangerous) iteration of the spinning drum rig, but the first one was made by Jack Valentine in 1972. Valentine was in the band White Horse which featured pre-Motley Crue Mick Mars and was an inspiration for Tommy Lee to do the stunt years later. Valentine was supposed to do this TV spot but broke his leg so Buddy filled in. Thanks to jonsilence for this great information v
